TAG School began at Hsi Lai Temple in 2015, inspired by the educational vision of Venerable Master Hsing Yun, founder of Fo Guang Shan and proponent of Humanistic Buddhism—bringing wisdom and compassion into everyday life.
What started as a small weekend class has grown into a multi-age program. The goal has stayed the same: help families live the Three Acts of Goodness—not only in the classroom, but in daily choices at home and in the community.
Whole-child, age-appropriate learning
Preschool, Kids, Junior, Youth, and a Parent Class. Each program meets children where they are—socially, emotionally, and developmentally—with clear routines and gentle expectations.
Applied Dharma in daily life
Stories, discussion, arts, teamwork, and quiet time help children connect values to real situations: how we speak when upset, how we include others, how we care for shared spaces.
Family partnership
Parents are invited to learn alongside their children and bring TAG practices into daily life—relationships, mealtimes, homework, chores, and play. The Parent Class focuses on practical topics such as Dharma in daily life, child psychology, mindful communication, altruism and household harmony.
Open and welcoming
TAG School is a community effort supported by volunteers. Open donation helps cover snacks, materials, and facility use.
Simple planning
Families can count on a straightforward semester calendar, class time, and registration process so participation is easy.
